A rapper accused of fatally shooting four men in 2010 sent text messages that boast about the murders, the Crown alleged in court on Wednesday.

Mark Garfield Moore is on trial for four counts of first-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty to all four charges.

On Wednesday, Crown Attorney Sean Hickey presented a roadmap of the evidence that will be presented over the course of the trial that is expected to last months. He painted the four murders as a killing spree that spanned 75 days.

The first shooting happened on Sept. 10, 2010, when Jahmeel Spence was gunned down shortly after he purchased a can of ice tea from a convenience store following a family party.

Approximately three weeks later, police say Courthney Facey and Mike James were fatally shot while standing in an alley in the area of Weston road and Lawrence Avenue West.

Police say Moore did not know those three victims. But he did know his fourth, according to Hickey.

Carl Cole was shot in a parking lot of a Scarborough apartment building on Nov. 24, 2010.

Three days after Cole's death, Hickey told the court that Moore sent a text message saying, "Got him in the cedar that dude dat Robb (sic) us."

Hickey says Moore also sent other text messages; one sent to a friend said: "(My) name shakes the streets," and another boasts about "terrorizing the burroghs (sic)."

Police say two guns were used in all four shootings.

Moore is currently serving a 12-year sentence for a violent Toronto robbery. His trial is expected to resume on Thursday.
