A living tree, once believed to be extinct, is growing by the day at Burlington's Royal Botanical Gardens.

Researchers believed Wollemi Pines were extinct until they accidentally discovered it in Australia's Wollemi National Park.

Scientists made sure to keep their discovery under wraps while they investigated the tree's habitat. They realized that there are less than a dozen of this particular tree in the world, and all of them are located in this remote part of Australia.

However, a small cutting was made and sent to Burlington where it has now grown into a beautiful tree. The Botanical Gardens keeps it on display for the public to see.
