TORONTO -- The NDP is enlisting a little star power for its campaign with the Ontario election just five days away.
Singer K'naan is performing at an NDP rally and concert in Toronto this evening.
The Somalian-born singer has won three Juno awards since 2005.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath is also attending Toronto's annual Portugal Day this morning.
Premier Kathleen Wynne is campaigning in Mississauga and the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Tory leader Tim Hudak has events in St. Catharines and Fort Erie.
The long-running scandal over the cancellation of two Toronto-area gas plants in 2011 is dominating the final weekend of the election campaign so far.
Hudak and Horwath hammered Wynne over the cancellation, which occurred under the watch of her predecessor Dalton McGuinty.
Hudak said Wynne should have stood up to McGuinty at the time and opposed the move, but Wynne shot back that her opponents are simply trying to distract voters from questioning their campaign platforms.
The opposition parties have contended the gas plant cancellations were an attempt to save Liberal seats in the previous election and there have been estimates the pricetag to taxpayers was up to $1.1-billion.
