A spate of shootings in the GTA since Friday afternoon have left six people in hospital.

The first incident occurred Friday afternoon. A young man was shot in the face at a basketball court near Sentinel Road and Keele Street around 5 p.m. His condition has been upgraded to stable from critical

The suspects in that case are three youth between the ages of 13 and 17. The suspected gunman is described as being white, blond and wearing a white shirt and jeans. They ran towards a field.

There's no word on a motive.

At about 10 p.m., a 23-year-old man who accidentally shot himself in the groin was found in the Jane-Finch area. He walked to his mother's house after the shooting. Paramedics took him to Sunnybrook hospital. He is expected to recover.

Two men then showed up at the Humber Regional Hospital's Finch branch. They were suffering from minor gunshot wounds.

Shots were reportedly fired at a young man on Jane Street near Black Creek Drive at about 11 p.m. Friday.

A 33-year-old Torontonian was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting outside the Body English nightclub at Eglinton Avenue E. and Dixie Road in Mississauga at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Toronto police told ctvtoronto.ca on Saturday that there have been no new developments in those cases.

Const. Adam Minnion of Peel Regional Police told ctvtoronto.ca that the shooting victim suffered minor injuries to the abdomen and should be released from hospital by Sunday morning at the latest.

A second person in the incident was grazed by a bullet but left before medical treatment could be offered, he said. Officers have identified the second victim but not yet spoken with him.

The incident was preceded by an argument inside the nightclub.

Two arrests have been made, Minnion said:

  • Abdul Jadran, 18, of Toronto
  • Terrance Hili, 28, of Toronto

Police are interviewing the two suspects. A full list of charges will be available later today, he said.

In another violent, but non-gun-related incident, paramedics rushed a 21-year-old man to St. Michael's hospital early Saturday after being stabbed at a fraternity party near the University of Toronto.

Police say party-crashers showed up to the St. George Street location and a scuffle broke out. They are intervewing partygoers. No arrests have been made yet.
