A 3-year-old girl has died after the vehicle she was riding in lost control and hit a hydro pole in Milton, Ont., police say.
The girl’s 36-year-old mother was at the wheel at the time of the crash.
Halton Regional Police said they were called to the scene at Esquesing Line between James Snow Parkway and 5 Side Road shortly after 2 p.m.
Police say an SUV-style vehicle was travelling northbound on Esquesing line when it lost control, entered a ditch at the side of road and eventually crashed into a hydro pole.
Both the girl and her mother were rushed to Milton District Hospital. Halton Regional Police said the girl was pronounced dead in hospital.
The mother has been treated for minor injuries.
Blowing snow may have been a contributing factor in the collision, according to police.
