A female pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Vaughan, police in York Region have confirmed.
Police say she was struck while walking her dog near the intersection of Summeridge and Thornhill Woods drives at around 8 p.m.
The vehicle also struck a tree, police said.
There is currently no information on the victim’s age or identity.
Thornhill Woods Drive is currently closed as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The closure is expected to last several hours.
