Family and friends held a memorial on Friday for a young Toronto woman who went missing last summer in a provincial park in northwestern Ontario.

Christina Calayca never returned from the dense forest after going for a jog at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park last August.

Crews searched extensively on the ground and in the air for three weeks, but failed to locate the 20-year-old. Relatives also helped look for Calayca.

The Ontario Provincial Police say they did not find signs of foul play, by Calayca's family believe something happened to the popular Catholic school worker, and have not given up hope.

Friday's service, held at St. Bernadette's Family Resource Centre in Toronto, was also meant to raise awareness for two new searches for Calayca, one organized by the OPP and the other by friends and family.

The Calayca family has raised about $50,000 to fund their efforts. They have hired a private firm, who will use cadaver dogs.

The searches are scheduled to take place next month, before the forest becomes too thick.
