Downtown stabbing sends 1 to hospital with serious injuries

One man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in the downtown core early Thursday morning, Toronto police say.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Front Street East and Tannery Road at around 3:30 a.m.

Police said the victim is believed to be in a man in his 30s.Paramedics initially said the man’s injuries were be life-threatening but investigators later confirmed that he is expected to survive.

A man in his 20s has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, police said in a post on social media.
