Norm Kelly has found himself in a rap battle of sorts after the Toronto councillor tweeted that recording artist Meek Mill was not welcomed to the city.

The tweet-happy councillor posted on Wednesday that Mill, a Philadelphia-born rapper, claimed home-grown musician Drake doesn't write his own rap music.

"Stop comparing drake to me too…. He don't write his own raps!," Mill tweeted. "That's why he ain't tweet my album because we found out!"

Drake hasn't responded as of Wednesday afternoon.

But Kelly, who frequently tweets at Drake or mentions him on social media, came to his defence.

"You're no longer welcome in Toronto, @MeekMill," Kelly said Wednesday morning.

The message has since been retweeted nearly 57,000 times.

Meanwhile, Mill is scheduled to perform in Toronto on July 28.
