Police have identified a man who was struck and killed on New Year's Day in Toronto's east end.
Maniram "Dan" Singh, 51, was hit while crossing the street at Eglinton Avenue East and Danforth Road.
The man was not wearing a jacket nor was he carrying any identification. That led investigators to believe he lived in the immediate area.
Authorities asked the public for help in identifying the man. Police identified the man late Friday as a Danforth Road, Scarborough resident.
