TORONTO - Talks aimed at ending a strike by college support workers resumed today at a Toronto hotel.

The two sides are sitting down with a provincially appointed mediator.

Ontario Public Service Employees Union spokesman Greg Hamara says the union revised its position on a wage increase and benefits for retirees but wouldn't go into details.

The union had previously been seeking a nine point wage increase over three years while management offered 4.75 points.

A spokesman for the colleges wouldn't say whether management has revised its offer.

The 8,000 cleaners, food-services staff, registration officers and others at the province's 24 colleges walked off the job Sept. 1.
