TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays acquired first baseman Mike Jacobs from the New York Mets for a player to be named in a minor-league deal Friday.

Jacobs will take over at first for triple-A Las Vegas after Brett Wallace was dealt Thursday to Houston for single-A outfielder Anthony Gose.

He also provides some depth for the Blue Jays should they chose to deal free-agent-to-be Lyle Overbay.

The Blue Jays also recalled outfielder Travis Snider from double-A New Hampshire.

Snider suffered a sprained wrist in May and has been working his way back since.
