The Bay Street concourse at Union Station has closed for renovations as part of a two-year “revitalization” project.
The construction project, which is expected to take two years, will increase the total size of the Bay Street concourse from 40,000 square feet to 61,000 square feet, Metrolinx says.
During the construction, the recently opened York concourse will serve as the central hub for GO commuters.
GO Transit employees will be located throughout Union Station during the first few weeks of the closure to assist customers in finding their way around the closure, Metrolinx says.
Metrolinx says they recommend customers plan their new route in advance to allow extra time to get to their destination.
The Bay Street concourse will re-open in 2017.
