A bigger and better Union Station isn’t expected to be complete until 2017, but Canada’s biggest commuter hub is already changing in noticeable ways.

A broad plaza is now evident between the station and the Royal York Hotel. Like a public square, the space will host events. Front Street will be reduced to two lanes but there will be areas to drop off and pick up passengers.
There are now two TTC platforms instead of one, vastly increasing the amount of space for Line 1 subway passengers.
More than 160 panels of public art are being installed.
