A woman who allegedly entered seniors’ apartments and stole cash in Whitby is wanted by police.

Police have released an image from a video surveillance camera of a female suspect entering a building in a residential area on Perry Street on July 18.

The theft occurred between 9:40 a.m. and 11 a.m., according to police. The suspect entered unlocked apartments, police said, checking several doors on different floors.

The suspect claimed to be in the wrong apartment when she walked in on a resident and then left. Later that day, police said residents noticed cash was missing.

The suspect entered a total of seven apartments, according to police.

Investigators described the suspect as a white female around 35 to 40 years old. She was described as being five-feet-six inches tall with long brown hair. She was wearing pink hospital scrubs, white running shoes and a straw hat.
