A woman has died after a parachute accident north of Toronto, near Baldwin Airport, police say.

York Regional Police say the woman, in her 20s, was found near Old Homestead Road, in the Town of Georgina after police received a call about the accident at around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the name of the victim, but said she was an experienced skydiver. They say they cannot confirm if she was a student of the Parachute School of Toronto, which is based at Baldwin Airport.

Last July, Igor Zaitsev, an advanced student at the Parachute School of Toronto, fell to his death during a nearly 1,700-metre skydive in Georgina.
