A female pedestrian has been taken to hospital in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in North York, paramedics say.

The collision occurred at shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday in the area of Bathurst Street and Marmion Avenue.

Paramedics say the woman suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was rushed to hospital where she is now receiving treatment.

The cause of the collision is not immediately clear.

Roads in the area were closed as police investigated, but have since reopened.
