Shoppers may want to stock up on groceries and liquor on Christmas Eve, as many stores won’t be back to normal hours until Dec. 27.
Here’s a list of what will be open and what will be closed over the holidays.
- LCBO and Beer Store locations will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day and closed on Boxing Day
- Wine Rack locations will open for various hours on Christmas Eve and close on Christmas Day. Some will be open with regular hours on Boxing Day
- Most shopping malls will close early on Christmas Eve, close Christmas Day and open early for Boxing Day shoppers on Dec. 26. The Toronto Eaton Centre will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen at 7 a.m. on Boxing Day. Yorkdale will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24 and reopen at 8 a.m. on Boxing Day
- Most banks, post offices and government offices will close early on Christmas Eve, and will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day
- Most Sobeys and Loblaws grocery stores will close early on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and will be closed on Christmas Day
- The TTC will operate normally on Christmas Eve, with Sunday service on Christmas Day and “Holiday service” on Boxing Day (same as Sunday service but with earlier start times)
- GO Transit will have a special schedule on Christmas Eve, operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day and operate on a Saturday schedule on Boxing Day
- The Toronto Zoo will be closed Christmas Day but is open every other day of the year, including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day
- Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is open 365 days per year
- The Royal Ontario Museum will be open for normal hours on Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day and open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Boxing Day
