A Toronto-area Uber driver is facing charges after a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted earlier this year.
According to police, the girl got into an Uber vehicle after exiting a downtown bus terminal at Bay and Edward streets on January 27.
The girl told police that she was sexually assaulted before being dropped off at her destination.
Though the incident occurred back in January, the girl spoke about it recently and was encouraged to report it thereafter.
A suspect identified as 41-year-old Fahmy Saggaf has been charged with sexual assault and sexually interference.
He is expected to appear in a Toronto courtroom on June 22.
