Toronto police have arrested and charged two men in connection with an alleged sexual assault that took place on the York University campus.

Toronto residents Maxie Rose, 21, and Joaquin Diaz, 27, have each been charged with one count of sexual assault.

The charges stem from an alleged incident at a York University bus stop on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Police say an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by two men while waiting for a TTC bus at about 10:45 p.m.

The suspects then fled on a TTC bus.

Police released photos of two suspects in the case on Friday, and arrested Rose and Diaz shortly after.

“The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying two men wanted in a sexual assault investigation,” police said in a statement on Saturday.

Rose and Diaz were scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom Saturday morning.
