GUELPH, Ont. -- A Toronto teenager is facing charges arising from an investigation into two gunpoint robberies in Guelph, Ont.
Guelph police say the robberies occurred on Oct. 27.
They say in the first robbery, two males entered a gas bar shortly after midnight and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk at gunpoint.
Investigators say the second robbery occurred three minutes later when two suspects pointed a gun at a convenience store clerk and again demanded cash and cigarettes.
They say the crime scenes are directly across the street from one another and the incidents are believed to be related.
A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday and faces charges that include robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and uttering threats to cause death.
