A 17-year-old girl has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing of an 18-year-old man in Mississauga last week.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Seneca Avenue and Lakeshore Road East, at approximately 6 a.m. on Dec. 31.

Peel Regional Police were called to the scene, where they found an 18-year-old suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a nearby trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, police arrested a 17-year-old Mississauga girl.

The teen, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with attempted murder and breach of probation.
