Police are searching for a suspect after a man was seen fleeing from a stabbing near Moss Park Saturday morning.

Paramedics arrived at Sherbourne and Dundas Streets around 7:30 a.m. Saturday to find a male victim suffering from serious stab wounds, according to Emergency Medical Services.

The injuries are considered non-life threatening, according to police.

According to an onlooker, the stabbing escalated from a loud argument in the street.

“They were very angry with each other and were shouting about something,” witness Florina Nitu said.

“One of the men had a chain or something and was trying to keep the other man at a distance, but in the end they sort of really assaulted each other.”

The suspect was last seen driving from the scene in a dirty black one-tonne truck with a silver equipment box in the back. He is described as a six-foot tall black male with a beard and a scar on his face.

Police have advised the public not to approach the suspect but instead dial 911.

A block of Sherbourne Street between Dundas Street East and Gerrard Street was shut down early Saturday morning as police investigated.
