A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital via emergency run after a stabbing in front of a McDonald’s in the Stockyards District early Friday morning.

Police say they were called to the Keele Street and St. Clair Avenue area at around 5:50 a.m. after a bus driver reported that a man had been stabbed and that a possible suspect had fled onto another bus.

Once police arrived on scene, they located a victim who was suffering from a single stab wound to his torso.

Paramedics say that victim was then rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening condition.

Police say that investigators have since determined that the victim was stabbed following an altercation with a male suspect.

That suspect is believed to have fled the scene on a bus that he boarded shortly after the stabbing, police say.

No suspect description has been released at this point.

Police say that it is possible that witnesses fled the scene after the stabbing and those people are being urged to come forward.
