GRIMSBY, Ont. -- The search continues for a missing boater in Lake Ontario.

Niagara Regional Police began the search late Friday night after being notified by the Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Trenton that a boater was overdue from the Fifty Point Marina.

Ivan Batusic, 47, of Burlington, Ont., was believed to be on Lake Ontario in the Grimsby, Ont., area when an intense thunderstorm swept through.

Police searched the shore while the Canadian Coast Guard conducted a marine search, and the missing sailboat was located aground and unoccupied in the Jordan Harbour area near Lincoln, Ont., about an hour after the search began.

Anyone with information on Batusic's disappearance is asked to contact police.

Batusic is described as six feet tall, 300 pounds with short grey and black hair and a goatee, and he was last seen wearing black cargo shorts and blue sandals.
