Major construction projects and events will make driving downtown a bit tricky this weekend.

Events closures

The Sunnybrook Foundation RBC Run for the Kids means the following roads will be closed on Saturday from 4 a.m. to noon:

  • Beecroft Road from Sheppard Avenue to Finch Avenue
  • Two southbound lanes on Yonge Street between Finch and Harlandale Avenue
  • Westbound curb lane of Finch between Leslie and Dufferin Streets

The Junction Music Festival will block off Dundas Street West from Keele Street to Indian Drove from Saturday at 6 a.m. to Sunday at 4 a.m.

Queen's Park and Queen's Park Crescent will be closed in both directions from Bloor to College Streets on Saturday and Sunday for Word on the Street

Tour de Black Creek Bike Race for Kids is closing a series of roads in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Harbour Street closures

Harbour Street wil be closed from York Street to Bay Street from Saturday to Monday for the installation of a pedestrian bridge.

The eastbound ramp from the Gardiner Expressway to York, Bay and Yonge Streets will also be closed during this time.

Traffic travelling eastbound on Lake Shore Boulevard will be diverted north on York Street.

Lake Shore Boulevard closures

The westbound passing lane will be occupied from Rees Street to Van De Water Crescent by tunnel construction from 9 a.m. to midnight every day until the end of February 2015.

Don Valley Parkway closures

On Sunday, the southbound ramp will be occupied due to transformer replacement from 7 a.m. to noon.

TTC closures and diversions

On Saturday and Sunday, this week and next, all trains on the University-Spadina will be turning back at St. Andrew Station. Trains on the Yonge line will turn back at Union Station. There will be no subway service between Union and St. Andrew.

The Scarborough Rapid Transit line opens late on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
