Police in York Region are seeking witnesses after an elderly couple was robbed in a violent home invasion in Vaughan early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the home, located area near Willis Road and Riverside Drive, around 4:30 a.m.
According to police, at least two male suspects entered the home sometime after midnight. The two residents were assaulted and restrained while property was stolen.
The suspects indicated they had a weapon, but the couple did not see it, said police.
Several hours after the suspects fled the scene, the victims were able to call for help.
The couple was taken to hospital, where the male remains in stable condition. He will remain in the hospital for observation, said police.
The female resident has been treated and released.
The suspects are described as male adults.
