Police are searching for a suspect they allege broke into a Yorkville jewelry store and fled with a backpack full of jewelry.

On June 27 at around 4:15 a.m., police responded to a call about a break-and-enter at a jewelry store near Cumberland and Bellair streets.

According to police, a suspect smashed a glass door to the store, filled a backpack with jewelry and fled the area.

In an effort to identify a suspect, police have released a security camera image of a man.

The suspect is described as a man in his 50s with a goatee and grey hair. He was last seen wearing black shorts, a black jacket, a beige Rebook ‘CRSFT’ or ‘CrossFit’ baseball hat and a black backpack.
