The Toronto Police homicide squad is appealing for three women to come forward and speak to them about a shooting that left one man dead and another with serious injuries.

"Investigators have received information that the two victims were with three women, inside the bar, just prior to the shooting," police said late Wednesday afternoon in a news release.

"Police are appealing to those three women to contact Detective Sergeant Wayne Banks at 416-808-7411 or Detective Mary Vruna at 416-808-7380."

Just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to 1805 Wilson Avenue, near Highway 400, where they found a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds in the lobby of a bar.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police then found a second victim, also suffering from gunshot wounds, in the parking lot behind the bar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not yet released the deceased victim's name. A post-mortem has yet to be scheduled.

The death is the city's 59th homicide of the year and the fourth in less than a week:
