Toronto police are searching for a second suspect in a human-trafficking investigation one month after making an initial arrest.

It is alleged that a 26-year-old woman was transported from the GTA to Calgary, where she was forced to work as a sex trade worker for approximately one month. The woman was forced to hand over her earnings. Police said they believe there may be other victims in the case.

On Friday, police said they were searching for a 29-year-old man in connection with the case.

Milad Chehelamiran is wanted in the investigation for five separate charges:

  • Trafficking in persons
  • Material benefit
  • Procure person to be a prostitute
  • Exercise control of person for prostitution
  • Uttering threats

Maziar Masoudi, 23, was arrested earlier this month in connection with the case and was charged with the same five counts.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
