Police have identified the 40-year-old man who died Saturday night after being severely beaten in the city’s west end.

Local resident Jorge Interiano, 40, was found by police with no vital signs after the attack, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. at Bloor Street and Concord Avenue, just west of Ossington. Police say he was out celebrating his birthday, which was on Wednesday.

Police are calling the death a homicide, and say they are looking for two male suspects believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

While some witnesses have been located and are co-operating with police, officials say security camera images suggest there may be additional witnesses. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-7400, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
