A pedestrian has died after a two-vehicle crash in North York Thursday afternoon.

Toronto EMS says the collision happened in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue West area at approximately 4:15 p.m.

One vehicle was travelling southbound on Yonge Street and the other vehicle was attempting to make a left-hand turn at the time of the crash. A pedestrian who was walking nearby was fatally struck.

Two other people, a male and a female, were rushed to hospital. Toronto EMS says one person is in serious but non-life-threatening condition and the other suffered minor injuries.

Police were interviewing witnesses after the crash. Some of them told CTV Toronto that the traffic light on Yonge Street had just turned amber at the time of the collision.

Yonge Street, between Finch Avenue West and Drewry Avenue, was temporarily closed in both directions as police investigated the crash.
