One man was pronounced dead at the scene after a stabbing in Toronto’s St. James Town neighbourhood early Monday morning.

Police say they were called to the second floor of an apartment building at 135 Rose Ave., where they discovered the body of a man in his mid-20s. The victim had sustained trauma to his body and was discovered inside an apartment unit near the elevator.

Police have arrested and charged one man with second-degree murder. The suspect was also treated for minor injuries.

The suspect and the victim were “acquaintances,” police said. Police say the confrontation was an isolated incident.

Investigators are not searching for other suspects.

Police said they intend to release a photo of the victim in hopes that the public will help in the investigation.
