Halton Regional Police have charged an Oakville doctor in connection with a sexual assault allegation that dates back to last year.

Police announced the charge in a news release late Monday night and said it concerns a 2015 incident involving an adult female patient.

Investigators said they laid the charge after they received additional information regarding the suspect.

Dr. Clarence Clottey, 56, has been charged with sexual assault.
