Police are investigating after multiple shots were fired in Lawrence Heights early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Varna Drive near Lawrence Avenue and Allen Road at around 2:30 a.m.

Officers were unable to locate any suspects or victims once they arrived on scene but did find shell casings in the area, confirming that a shooting had taken place.

Police say that they are now canvassing the neighbourhood looking for possible witnesses.

In recent months, Varna Drive has been the site of several shootings including one that left a 15-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries in April. In May, police were also called to the area after four shots were fired through the front window of a home on the street. At the time, police said that a family of 14 lived in the home and that none of them had known gang ties.
