A man who was Tasered following an alleged security breach at Toronto's Pearson International Airport is not expected to be charged, police said Friday.

Peel Regional Police spokesperson Const. Thomas Ruttan says the unidentified man remains in hospital where he is being assessed by mental health experts.

Thursday’s incident was caught on video. Police say man was detained under the Ontario Mental Health Act after attempting to board an airplane. Police told reporters he was being loud and was noticeably agitated prior to being hit with the Taser.

The incident that led to the man's arrest was recorded by a bystander and posted to YouTube on Thursday evening.

The video shows the man standing at a security gate holding a black briefcase. He is surrounded by uniformed officers, with a Taser pointed at his chest. Police said officers asked him repeatedly to drop the briefcase. When he refused, he was hit with one blast of the Taser.

A loud bang can be heard in the video, before the man slumps forward to the ground, screaming and shaking. Officers can be seen putting handcuffs on his wrists before being taken in to custody.

Police have not said which plane he was trying to board at the time.
