A 41-year-old man was arrested by police Monday in connection with an investigation into a robbery of a TTC collector booth last month.

The robbery took place on May 7, just before 1 a.m. at Lansdowne subway station. Police said a suspect approached a toll collector and demanded money while pointing a weapon hidden under his hooded top. He left the subway station after the employee handed him some cash.

Later that day, about 12 hours later, police said they believe same man walked into a Shoppers Drug Mart located at Eglinton Avenue and Caledonia Road, in the Eglinton West neighbourhood.

He approached an employee in the store and allegedly threatened to shoot if he did not receive any money. The employee managed to escape without handing over any money and the man fled the scene.

Toronto police arrested a suspect identified as Saleem Al Kindy and charged him with two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon and two counts of disguise with intent.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
