A west-end car dealership became a crime scene on Thursday morning after a man was shot during an armed robbery.

Toronto police said three armed men stormed the Humberview Motorsports at Bloor and Jane Streets at around 9:30 a.m., shooting one employee in the leg and robbing one customer of some personal effects.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, was rushed to Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital in serious condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say three suspects were last seen running from the dealership.

By 3:30 p.m. police confirmed that they still hadn't made any arrests in the investigation.

One suspect has been described as a while male with a stocky build, seen carrying a handgun. Descriptions of the other two suspects were not immediately available.

Later in the day, Toronto police's Emergency Task Force was called to nearby Montgomery Avenue, near Dundas Street West.

CTV Toronto's John Musselman reported that it is believed a threat was made against either the dealership owner's family or a former staff member.
