A man in his 30s was taken to a trauma centre after an industrial accident in North York on Saturday.

Police received reports that glass had fallen on a construction worker in the Finch Avenue and Leslie Street area at around 8:35 a.m.

The man suffered serious injuries but was conscious and breathing at the scene, according to Toronto police Cst. Allyson Douglas-Cook.

He was taken to a trauma centre via emergency run, she said.

There were closures along the route to Sunnybrook, which were in effect until the man arrived at the hospital.

The Ministry of Labour will be investigating the incident.
