One man is dead following a head-on crash in Markham last night, York Regional Police confirm.
It happened near McCowan Road and Elgin Mills Road at around 6 p.m.
According to police, a male driver was attempting to pass a tractor when he struck an oncoming vehicle head-on.
The driver who attempted to pass the tractor suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released the name of the deceased.
