A man accused of throwing a can of beer onto the field during a Toronto Blue Jays’ wild-card game last year pleaded guilty to a mischief charge on Tuesday.

Ken Pagan appeared in a Toronto courtroom to face a charge of mischief under $5,000 for tossing a beer can just as Baltimore Orioles’ outfielder Hyun Soo Kim was about to catch a fly ball during the seventh inning of the game on Oct. 4, 2016.

The Hamilton resident’s lawyer Tyler Smith confirmed to CP24 on Tuesday that his client plead guilty to the charge and will return to court for a sentencing hearing.

Pagan turned himself into police after authorities released an image of a suspect with the investigation one day after the game took place.

As a result, the Rogers Centre did not serve beer in cans for the rest of the post-season.

At the time of the incident Pagan was employed at Postmedia. However, after the incident the company confirmed to CP24 on Oc. 17, 2016 that he was no longer employed with them.

Pagan is expected to appear in court on June 28 for a sentencing hearing.
