A 20-year-old man who was pulled unconscious from a swimming pool at a Clarington resort on Wednesday has died, Durham Regional police say.
Police were called to the Cedar Park Resort on Cedar Park Road near Concession Road 6 at around 9:30 a.m. after the man was pulled from a pool by staff members who spotted him.
Police say the victim, who is an employee at the resort, was standing in one of the pools at the time when he appeared to have a medical episode and slipped under the water.
Staff members pulled the victim out of the water and performed CPR on him until emergency crews arrived. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time.
