Trains on GO Transit’s Lakeshore East line were delayed Wednesday morning by what’s believed to be an act of vandalism.

Police have been called in to investigate the discovery of a severed cable between GO’s Pickering and Rouge Hill stations, said company representative Vanessa Thomas.

Trains were forced to slow down between Rouge Hill and Guildwood stations while crews repaired the damaged cable, which resulted in some delays.

Thomas said it’s believed that the vandalism took place overnight.
