Diehard skiers still have a chance to hit the slopes at Blue Mountain, the last ski resort still open for business in Ontario.

With temperatures reaching the high teens, spring is most definitely in the air, but that isn’t stopping the skiers and snowboarders who made their way to the Blue Mountain resort Saturday.

Blue Mountain is the last ski hill open in Ontario, offering enthusiasts a chance to hit the slopes for what may well be the last time this season.

"We've got pass holders and customers who still want to be out there," said Paul Pinchbeck, Blue Mountain's director of marketing. "We give them the longest ski season that we possibly can and I think our customers really appreciate that dedication."

Only three of Blue Mountain’s 42 runs are open, but Pinchbeck said the hill will stay open for as long as it’s safe to ski.

"From now on, the forecast is the most important thing," he said.

Blue Mountain is located west of Barrie, Ont.
