TORONTO - Kelly Johnson hit a two-run homer and Chad Jenkins recorded his first major-league victory as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-3 on Tuesday night.

Johnson went deep off Minnesota starter Anthony Swarzak (3-6) in the fourth inning, one of six Toronto hits on the night. Jenkins (1-3) allowed two earned runs over five-plus innings in his third career major-league start.

Casey Janssen worked the ninth for his 22nd save as Minnesota (66-95) lost its fourth straight game to remain last in the American League Central division. Toronto (72-89) is fourth in the A.L. East division standings.

The Blue Jays' youngsters helped the Blue Jays get on the board in the third inning.

Second baseman Adeiny Hechavarria doubled and moved to third on a groundout by Moises Sierra. After an Anthony Gose walk, Rajai Davis singled to push Hechavarria across with the game's first run.

Johnson hit his 16th homer of the season over the wall in right-centre field. The Blue Jays added another run in the fifth when Gose scored from third on a Yunel Escobar single.
