Toronto Hydro says power has been restored to more than 2,000 customers in Toronto’s Parkwoods neighbourhood after an outage earlier this morning.

The outage was first reported at around 5:30 a.m. in the area bounded by Victoria Park Avenue, the Don Valley Parkway, Lawrence Avenue and Highway 401.

Toronto Hydro spokesperson Mallory Cunnington says approximately 2,500 customers were initially without power but crews were able to turn the lights back on for all residents by about 10 a.m.

Cunnington says the outage was caused by some type of fault in underground equipment.

"Our crews are going through right now and trying to find whereabouts that fault is happening so that we can make the repairs and restore the power," she told CP24 Monday morning.

"It is a manual process of them trying to find the underground fault. As we do move through the equipment underground, we are restoring people slowly by surely. But we are hoping to get it back as soon as possible."
