A 15-year-old girl has died after two vans collided in Brampton overnight.

The crash happened at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, when a van travelling on Torbram Road collided with another in the intersection at Queen Street.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a 15-year-old girl unconscious. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.

Two other people were transported to hospital as a precaution, but they are expected to recover.

Police said they are investigating reports that one of the vans may have run a red light.
