Toronto police are closing the Gardiner Expressway as they continue to search for evidence after shots were fired into two condominium buildings early Saturday morning.
The first incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. at a building on Queens Quay east of Bathurst Street.
Police say they located bullet holes in two units inside the building after being called to the scene.
In one of the units, a single bullet was found lodged into a wall.
It is not known how many shots were fired into the other unit.
No injuries were reported.
At around 12 p.m., police were called to a nearby condominium building on Queens Quay at Spadina Avenue, where a bullet hole was discovered in a window.
That incident is believed to be related to the earlier shootings.
On Saturday morning, before the bullet hole was discovered in the second building, police briefly shut down the eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway and then the westbound lanes as they investigated. Several shell casings were recovered.
In a Toronto police tweet sent out Saturday afternoon, police said they would once again be closing the highway to search for evidence.
The eastbound lanes will be closed from Jameson Avenue to York Street beginning at around 3:30 p.m.
Once the eastbound lanes are reopened, police will close all westbound lanes to complete their search.
