Toronto mayoral candidate David Soknacki participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Monday. He took questions about the city's transit, future policies and his lack of name recognition compared to the other contenders.

Here are four things you may not have known about Soknacki and what he stands for:

His pick for mayor -- other than himself

A Reddit user asked Soknacki who he would think would make a great mayor of Toronto.

"I'm a fan of (Calgary Mayor Naheed) Nenshi ... and note that he is an LRT supporter," Soknacki responded.

Unseating Rob Ford

When Soknacki was faced with a question about being concerned that he doesn't have the support to win, he told users that Toronto residents shouldn't vote strategically.

"I think Rob Ford is pretty capable of ruining his own chances, don’t you? I think the people of Toronto should support whoever best fits their criteria for an ideal mayor. Don’t vote out of fear, or compromise. Vote for the mayor this city deserves. If only early frontrunners won elections then we wouldn’t have had David Miller or Naheed Nenshi or Bill de Blasio as mayors. I know people are anxious to end this sad and distracting period in our city’s history, but we can do it with the integrity of our own votes intact."

Top music picks

Soknacki, recognizing his place in the race as an underdog, said he would choose Drake's 'Started from the Bottom' when asked what songs he would put on his Toronto playlist.

He went on to say that his taste in music is primarily classical and on occasion he listens to jazz.

He supports most plans for the Toronto Waterfront -- besides the ferris wheel

Soknacki said he supports the Billy Bishop Airport expansion but contingent on three main factors.

He said the airport must comply with more stringent emissions and noise regulations, the expansion must comply with federal safety standards and council must approve a plan for improving the chaos at the foot of Bathurst and Lakeshore.

Soknacki made a joke about former proposed ideas for the waterfront at the end of his answer: "No big ferris wheels. No domination by one use."

Soknacki's AMA session lasted three hours.
