A woman is dead after falling off a cliff in Mount Nemo Conservation Area in Burlington Sunday afternoon.

Police, fire services and paramedics were called to the area around 1 p.m. after the woman fell some 80 feet while hiking, police said.

Police found the woman in rugged terrain at the bottom of the cliff and performed CPR until paramedics arrived to take over. However she was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

A coroner has been called in and police are investigating the incident. However they say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters are currently working to remove the woman’s body from the base of the cliff.

The woman’s age has not been disclosed as her family had not yet been notified.

It wasn’t immediately clear if she was hiking alone.
